6 ways to deal with baldness

Baldness is a common phenomenon and is considered a standard feature of a person. Such a process of hair loss in a medical reference book is called androgenetic alopecia. The name itself emphasizes the reason - thinning hair under the influence of male androgen hormones, and it manifests itself in people who have a genetic predisposition. Because hair thinning is due to heredity, it is quite challenging to treat this process, and it is merely impossible to cure it completely. There are many myths about the effectiveness of specific remedies for hair loss (folk remedies, ampoules, shampoos), but they are ineffective for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

Baldness treatment

To manage genetic pathology, means and methods are needed, the effectiveness of which is confirmed by several studies. There are not many such funds, and the trichologist doctor writes them directly, which means that it will not work to buy their cosmetic store. We turn to the methods themselves. 1 Minoxidil Lotion

Minoxidil is the main active ingredient used to treat alopecia in men. It has been used since the 80s of the last century, a considerable number of studies have passed, showing its effectiveness and safety. It does not affect male hormones, does not "cure," does not eliminate the cause of thinning, but only stimulates hair thickening and growth during application - this helps to stabilize the amount of vegetation. You need to use it regularly as a hair care product, since in most cases, after the termination of use, a relapse of the problem occurs. It should be noted that side effects are possible - increased hair growth on the face and body, irritation of the scalp. So first to the trichologist for a prescription, and only then to buy.

2 Finasteride

The most powerful drug used in the therapeutic method of hair treatment since it affects the cause of the development of baldness. It is necessary to take it inside, it has a hormonal nature, so be careful and consult your doctor first. Side effects do not differ in frequency. According to statistics, they develop only in 2% of men who use this tool, so we omit it.

3 Plasma therapy

This is a method of treating hair thinning with your plasma - the liquid part of the blood enriched with vitamins, hormones, and platelets. Platelets are a source of their own factors that regulate the normal functioning of hair cells, reduce their loss and normalize growth. Since 2017, it has been included in the standards for the treatment of alopecia. This is how it happens: plasma is introduced under the skin, and it, in turn, starts the rejuvenation process, and skin regeneration accelerates. Metabolic processes improve, skin cells begin to actively divide, and the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid is enhanced. New hair begins to grow from new cells.

4 Laser therapy

An original method of baldness therapy based on microtraumatization of the skin using an erbium laser beam of a specific wavelength, power, and density. It is used to treat various forms of alopecia - from androgenetic to focal. Its effect is based on the awakening of "sleeping" hair follicles (bulbs) by heating certain areas with a laser beam, which leads to its activation and, accordingly, hair growth.

5 Low-intensity laser therapy

It is carried out by red and infrared light - one of the "soft" methods for correcting baldness with the help of laser devices used at home or in medical centers. The treatment method based on stimulating the synthesis of ATP (energy) in the cells of the hair follicle and stimulating their division. It is carried out in courses depending on the power of the laser apparatus. On average, twice a year.

6 Hair Transplant

You must have heard of this method. It does not prevent further baldness, so medication is sometimes required to maintain the effect. The essence of the transplant is that there is a redistribution of hair from other parts of the body (nape, chest, beard) to the frontoparietal zone of the head. It is recommended for patients with advanced stages of baldness, as well as with severe thinning of the hair, follicular atrophy. In general, when therapeutic measures do not help or when a person does not have the time/desire to deal with this issue every day. There is a modern way of hair transplantation - the FUE method, or seamless. This method is the most popular, non-traumatic, and safe. Hair follicles transplanted with micro-tools that do not injure the skin. They do not leave scars and scars, but only point invisible marks, which is why this method is called seamless. Transplanted hair continues to grow in the zone of alopecia, as before, but is no longer subject to the adverse effects of hormones, and their loss excluded.
