THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY is the extended version of the eleventh album or also known as her twelfth studio album (sister to the standard version) by American singer Taylor Swift. Released through Republic Records. Announced by surprise in a social media countdown, it was released two hours after the standard version with 15 additional songs. Upon the album/albums release, critical reception was polarized. Most reviews were positive, praising Swift's cathartic songwriting for its emotional resonance and wit, but some found the album to be drawn-out and lacking depth. Later reviews appreciated the album's musical and lyrical nuances that emerged upon further listening, and questioned the credibility of initial criticism for supposedly focusing on Swift's public image rather than the album's artistic merit.
