Megan Thee Stallion, in an exclusive interview with ET, has dropped hints about her upcoming music and film debut while also discussing her collaboration with Frito-Lay's Flamin' Hot University (F.U.), designed to support HBCU students through online courses and limited-edition merchandise.
While Megan isn't revealing specific release dates, she's cautioning her fans, known as the "Hotties," to be ready for her new music. When asked by ET's Rachel Smith about the release date, she stated, "I like to surprise the Hotties, so I'm not gonna say how soon, but just be expecting it. Everybody knows spooky season is my favorite season, so just be on point."
Megan previously teased her fans about working on new music during Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party earlier this year, promising a new album following her 2022 release, "Traumazine." Her appearance at the party marked her return to the public eye after staying out of it since testifying against former friend Tory Lanez in his felony assault trial in December, which resulted in Lanez's conviction and a 10-year prison sentence.
In a May interview with InStyle, Megan explained that her fans would have to wait for new music as she was focused on healing. She emphasized the importance of taking time off to avoid burnout in the demanding entertainment industry and said, "Life is all about balance."
Since then, Megan has been sharing her healing journey on social media, showcasing her time with her dogs, workouts, binge-watching TV shows, and her efforts to protect her peace. This period of self-care has put her in a place where she's excited to share her work with her fans and feels like she's starting a fresh chapter in her life.
Megan also revealed that she has removed all social media apps from her phone to avoid feeling pressured by other artists' work. This move has allowed her to create music that feels genuinely good to her without the influence of external pressures.
She acknowledged that her journey hasn't been easy, and despite her confident persona, she had to confront the impact of constant public scrutiny. Ultimately, this process led her to a place of self-love and self-acceptance.
Megan's musical prowess remains strong, as demonstrated by her recent collaboration with Cardi B on the track "Bongos," accompanied by a visually stunning music video. The collaboration continues to excite her fans, showcasing her artistic versatility alongside Cardi B's captivating performance.
