During their recent performance at JJ's Live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, experimental hip-hop group Death Grips had to cut their show short after audience members threw glow sticks and other objects at them. Videos shared on social media platforms depicted the moment when band members Zach Hill, Andy Morin, and MC Ride were targeted by the items thrown from the crowd.
Fans took to online platforms to discuss the incident. One fan expressed frustration, saying, "What is with people acting like this? Bands are not robots, and getting pelted with objects hurts. If you were moshing like you're supposed to, this wouldn't happen." Another person recounted the events, stating that someone repeatedly threw glow sticks, with one hitting MC Ride, prompting him to throw the microphone down in anger. This happened again, leading to the band leaving the stage in the middle of their performance of the song "Black Paint."
MC Ride's visible anger during these incidents did not deter the audience, as more objects, including a phone and another glow stick, were thrown at the band. Eventually, Death Grips decided to leave the stage due to the ongoing disruptions.
This incident adds to a concerning trend of audience members throwing objects at performers during live shows. Several other artists, including Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles, Lil Nas X, and Pink, have also been targeted by objects thrown by audience members, resulting in injuries and disruptions. The increase in such incidents has raised concerns about the safety of performers during live performances.
