Ed Sheeran has had to unexpectedly postpone his Las Vegas concert, just an hour before showtime, due to a safety issue. The popular "Shape of You" singer, currently on his +–=÷× (Mathematics) Tour, took to Instagram to inform his fans about the situation.
In a statement, Sheeran expressed his disbelief at the situation and explained that challenges arose during the setup of the Las Vegas show, making it impossible to proceed safely. He conveyed his apologies to the fans who had traveled to attend the concert and announced a rescheduled date for Saturday, October 28th, assuring fans that their purchased tickets would remain valid.
The following day, Sheeran provided more details in a second Instagram statement, emphasizing that the cancellation was indeed due to safety concerns. He reiterated that the decision was made to prioritize the safety of his fans and took full responsibility for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation. Sheeran also mentioned that refunds were available for those who couldn't make the rescheduled date and promised that the October 28th show would be a special event.
Sheeran expressed his regret for any inconvenience caused to fans waiting outside the venue and mentioned that he and his crew had been optimistic about the show until the last moment. He concluded by apologizing once again to those affected and extended hope to see them in October.
Ed Sheeran's +–=÷× (Mathematics) Tour, which began in April 2022, was originally slated to continue until September 23, with a show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. However, due to the Las Vegas cancellation, the rescheduled date for the Vegas show is now set for October 28th.
