Katharine McPhee and David Foster recently sat down with ET to discuss their current tour, their new single "Amazing Grace," and their family life. The couple, who are currently touring together, shared their excitement about their collaboration and their upcoming holiday album.
During the interview, McPhee and Foster revealed that there was some debate about including "Amazing Grace" on their album, as it's a religious song and not a traditional Christmas song. However, they decided to release it as their first single to introduce their holiday album without overwhelming listeners with Christmas music. "Amazing Grace" will be featured on the second part of their Christmas Songs album, scheduled for release on October 20.
The couple mentioned that the response to the first seven songs on their album has been positive, leading them to complete the project with a second volume. McPhee clarified that it's not a separate Christmas album but a completion of the first one.
In addition to their music career, McPhee and Foster have been touring together as part of the David and Friends Tour, which will continue with North American dates next month. While they enjoy performing on stage, they admitted that the constant packing and unpacking while on the road can be tiresome.
However, as the holiday season approaches, the couple looks forward to spending time at home and continuing their family traditions. They mentioned a Thanksgiving tradition of bringing both their families together in a rented house in the desert for a weekend of activities like tennis and pickleball, along with two big meals. They also anticipate creating new Christmas memories in their new home.
