Kevin Costner and his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, have successfully reached a mutually agreeable resolution for their divorce after announcing their separation in May.
Costner's representative, Arnold Robinson, confirmed the amicable settlement, stating, "Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings." However, the specific terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.
Their divorce journey had previously involved a contentious court battle in August, during which Baumgartner requested an increase in child support payments, seeking $175,057. This amount represented a significant rise from the initial tentative order of $129,755. The argument for the increase was based on the lifestyle the couple had provided for their three children, with Baumgartner's attorney, John Rydell, asserting that it was ingrained in their upbringing. Ultimately, Costner was ordered to make monthly payments of $63,209 to Baumgartner.
Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner, who had been together for nearly 19 years, share three children: sons Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 16, and 13-year-old daughter Grace. They began their relationship in 1998 and tied the knot in 2004 at Costner's Colorado ranch.
The divorce announcement in May was accompanied by a statement from Robinson, expressing that it was with great sadness that Costner had to participate in the dissolution of his marriage.
Costner, a prominent actor known for his roles in "Yellowstone," "Dances With Wolves," "The Bodyguard," and "Bull Durham," attended the 2022 Academy Awards with Baumgartner before their divorce. At the event, they graced the red carpet together, with Costner wearing a classic black-and-white tuxedo and Baumgartner donning a two-toned strapless dress.
