Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have proudly introduced their newborn baby, Riot Rose, to the world, sharing heartwarming photos of their growing family.
In the latest pictures, the power couple is seen with their two sons, the new addition to the family, Riot Rose Mayers, born on August 1st, and their 16-month-old son, RZA Athelston Mayers. Riot Rose looks adorable in a soft pink outfit that complements his middle name, while his older brother sports a stylish ensemble with a henley, jeans, and a leather jacket.
The denim theme doesn't stop with their outfits; it extends to their names as well. The family's names all start with "R" — Riot, RZA, Robyn Rihanna Fenty (35 years old), and Rakim Athelaston Mayers (34 years old), which is Rocky's birth name. While RZA was named after a Wu-Tang Clan member, the couple hasn't publicly discussed the inspiration behind Riot's name, although Rocky did release a single titled "Riot (Rowdy Pipe'n)" earlier in the summer.
Rihanna surprised the world with her pregnancy announcement during her Super Bowl halftime performance in February. Six months later, Riot entered the world quietly.
Earlier in the year, before Rihanna's pregnancy became visibly evident, the couple introduced RZA in a heartwarming family photoshoot for the cover of British Vogue. The photo captured Rocky and Rihanna strolling hand-in-hand on a beach, with Rocky holding a smiling RZA and planting a gentle kiss on his forehead.
In an interview with the magazine, Rihanna summed up her experience of motherhood in one word: "Legendary." She spoke about how it changes one's perspective, making it difficult to remember life before becoming a parent.
"It was beautiful," she recalled about giving birth to RZA, expressing her feeling of being blessed. Rihanna and Rocky took their firstborn home as a couple, navigating the early days of parenthood as a duo.
"The transition was incredible," Rihanna shared. "You walk into the hospital as a couple and leave as a family of three. It’s nuts. And oh, my gosh, those first days are insane. You don’t sleep. At all. Not even if you wanted to. Man, you’re a zombie for the most part."
Bringing their first child home was an adjustment for the couple, with Rihanna fondly reminiscing about those early mornings when she would roll RZA's bassinet into the bathroom just to catch a glimpse of him.
"(Mornings) were always my favorite, his little wake-up face, seeing his face change, seeing his color come in, just all of these changes," Rihanna shared, highlighting the joys of parenthood.
