Peso Pluma, the Mexican singer currently on his Doble P Tour, has had to cancel yet another concert due to threats from a Mexican cartel, citing concerns for the safety of fans and his team. Originally scheduled to perform at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico, on October 14, Pluma's record label, Prajin Music Group, made the announcement of the cancellation on their Instagram stories.

The statement from the label read in Spanish, "Our objective is to protect the fans and the team. For the security of everyone involved, we will be canceling our show in Tijuana. Many thanks to all of our fans for understanding. We love you." However, the specific reason behind the cancellation was not disclosed in the statement.

This marks the latest in a series of canceled performances for Peso Pluma, who received threats from a Mexican cartel just last week, ahead of his scheduled Tijuana show in October. The threats were conveyed through a banner displayed on a bridge in Tijuana on September 12, and it was attributed to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. The message on the banner warned Pluma to refrain from performing on October 14, stating, "This goes to Peso Pluma. Refrain from presenting yourself on October 14 because it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue. You show up and we are going to (break you)."

Peso Pluma's official website currently lists his next show in Reno, Nevada, scheduled for September 28. The singer is known for his contributions to the narcocorrido genre, which has faced criticism for allegedly glorifying drug cartels. Despite the controversy, the genre has gained immense popularity, even reaching global music charts and attracting large audiences. Pluma, hailing from Zapopan, Jalisco, is considered one of the prominent figures in the new era of "corridos," which are Mexican narrative ballads that often depict heroic struggles.

Before the MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, Peso Pluma spoke about his excitement at the international recognition of his music. He expressed gratitude for the global appeal of Mexican music and noted that it was transcending boundaries. On that historic night, he became the first Mexican performer at the awards show, highlighting the genre's growing influence and popularity.
