Gwen Stefani Tugs at Heartstrings to Win Over Team Niall Singer in Emotional 'The Voice' Battle As the Battle Rounds kicked off in season 24 of The Voice, Niall Horan grappled with the tough decisions ahead. The sophomore coach questioned his choices, particularly when pairing Lennon VanderDoes and Tanner Massey for their duet of Billy Joel's "She Always a Woman" – a performance that captivated all the coaches and left Niall second-guessing himself.

Gwen Stefani couldn't help but channel her motherly instincts to sway the outcome. "That was so incredible!" she raved. "I mean, both of you are mind-blowing in your own way." John Legend, inspired by the song, shared its significance in his life, and Niall's fellow coaches leaned slightly toward Tanner, commending his stage presence.

Niall admitted, "This is one of the Battles where I've really been battling with myself, and now I'm regretting putting you in the same pairing." In the end, Niall named Lennon the winner, but the battle wasn't over for Tanner, as both John and Gwen vied to steal him for their teams.

John praised Tanner's magical voice, while Gwen played the maternal card, mentioning her son Kingston's singing aspirations and her desire to support Tanner. The maternal pitch worked, and Tanner joined Team Gwen!

ET caught up with Gwen before this season's Battles, where she reflected on her return to The Voice without her husband, Blake Shelton, by her side. She shared the joy of coaching and getting to know her team, even as she found it a bit nerve-wracking to see Reba McEntire in Blake's chair, handling her first season.

Gwen also reminisced about Reba's first season and how smoothly she handled the Blind Auditions. The Voice airs on NBC on Mondays at 8 p.m. PT and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. PT."
