In a recent episode of 'The Voice,' Ruby Leigh, a 16-year-old country singer from Missouri, left the coaches awestruck with her remarkable performance, including some flawless yodeling. Dressed in her rodeo attire, Ruby took the stage with her guitar and delivered a rendition of Patsy Montana's "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart." Initially, the coaches took a moment to fully grasp her talent, but when Ruby unleashed her yodeling prowess during the chorus, all four coaches swiftly turned their chairs.
John Legend was quick to praise her, stating, "I've truly never heard anything like what you just did. It was like, how is a human being able to do the things that you're doing? You can win The Voice, honestly."
Gwen Stefani was equally impressed, saying, "I'm blown away by you."
Niall Horan chimed in, "The energy is just insane. You got four chairs for a reason."
However, when Reba McEntire, a country music legend herself, showcased her yodeling skills and expressed her pride in seeing a young singer carry on the tradition, it was clear that Ruby's choice was made. Without hesitation, Ruby decided to join Team Reba.
In an interview with the coaches before the season premiere, Reba shared that Gwen, Niall, and John had warmly welcomed her to the show, treating her like a sister. Still, when it came to the competition, the friendly camaraderie disappeared.
"They've helped me, they've guided me and taught me, and then after I learned up to that point, then they say, 'You're on your own,'" Reba recalled.
John jokingly added, "We still want to beat her."
