The Voice': Huntley Lets His 6-Year-Old Daughter Pick His Team After 4-Chair Turn

During the final night of Blind Auditions on Season 24 of The Voice, Huntley, a 33-year-old from Virginia, delivered a captivating performance of The Black Crowes' "She Talks to Angels." His rendition was so impressive that it prompted all four coaches, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and John Legend, to hit their chair buttons almost simultaneously.

Reba complimented Huntley by comparing his voice to Chris Stapleton's, and Niall praised his powerful and emotionally resonant performance. Gwen referred to Huntley's singing as "automatic," and John noted that he was "ready for the world" and "one of the best voices" they had encountered.

Facing the tough decision of choosing a coach, Huntley decided to involve his 6-year-old daughter, Stella. Stella had previously expressed a "crush" on one of the coaches, Niall Horan, and she followed through on her preference by putting her dad on Team Niall.

Niall Horan's ability to connect with One Direction fans had been a recurring theme throughout the season. He had successfully recruited other impressive singers, such as Laura Williams, who had attended a 1D tour in her youth, and Nini Iris, who had written One Direction fanfiction in the past.

The other coaches, especially John, found Niall's popularity with a certain generation of fans reminiscent of Nick Jonas's appeal during his time on the show. John humorously acknowledged that Niall had been a formidable competitor throughout the season, particularly with the female contestants.

"The Voice" airs on NBC on Mondays at 8 p.m. PT/ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. PT/ET.
