Niall Horan's fellow coaches on The Voice are finding it challenging to convince former One Direction fans to join their teams. This trend became evident after Laura Williams' Blind Audition on a recent episode, where Niall successfully recruited the four-chair turn singer, leaving Reba McEntire and John Legend expressing their frustration.
"Darn those boy bands!" Reba exclaimed in frustration.
John Legend chimed in, "It's reminiscent of when Nick Jonas was a coach on the show. He had a strong appeal to a particular generation of female fans."
Interestingly, Laura openly confessed to being a One Direction fan during her conversation with the coaches. She even reminisced, saying to Niall, "I saw you back in 2015! Did you spot me up there in the nosebleeds?"
Later, speaking to the cameras, John expressed his disappointment, saying, "I absolutely loved Laura's performance, but it's disheartening to learn she's a Directioner. Niall has been a formidable competitor this season, especially with these devoted fans."
In a previous interview before the season premiere, first-time coach Reba acknowledged the warm welcome she received from Gwen, Niall, and John, describing their relationship as akin to siblings. However, she humorously noted that the friendly camaraderie takes a backseat when it comes to the competition.
"They've been supportive, offering guidance and sharing their knowledge," Reba recalled. "But when it comes down to it, we're all determined to outshine each other," she added, eliciting laughter from John Legend, who wholeheartedly agreed.
